Job Summary
Lead a team responsible for delivering end to end actuarial processes for the assigned business(es). Provides recommendations and business insight to the relevant chief actuary, actuarial business partners and management; ensures quality of results and adherence to governance requirements.
Job Accountabilities – Key Accountabilities
- Lead team in providing professional actuarial services to relevant chief actuary and business partners including insights into underlying performance and business implications on topics with high complexity.
- Lead actuarial activities on complex portfolios providing the highest level of actuarial advice.
- Lead analyses and provide high quality actuarial advice to enable business critical decisions to be made related to activities outside of normal responsibilities.
- Make informed actuarial recommendations based on professional judgment and experience; effectively challenge and escalate issues within business decisions or processes that cannot be supported from an actuarial standpoint.
- Ensure that data, methodology and processes used in analyses are appropriate, working cross-functionally to ensure required quality and granularity.
- Complete complex actuarial activities to develop risk based capital models and conduct calibration and parameterization activities.
- Assess the effectiveness of internal processes and participate in developing recommendations for improvements in own area.
- Significant responsibility for the recruitment, training, mentoring and professional development of actuarial staff under supervision.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as business, marketing, or finance.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in product management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling products.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather and analyze data to make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Passion for product development and a deep understanding of customer needs.
- Experience in Insurance is a plus.
