R & D Assistant (Food Industry)

Responsibilities

  • To carry out R&D projects such as formulation, sample preparation and sensory evaluation.
  • To initiate research & development efforts to create new products.
  • To establish/maintain and update related work instructions, including analysis method, specification (recipe, ingredients list, nutritional fact) and documents of all projects and samples status on time.
  • To conduct and monitor the preparation of prototype/sample and to determine the process specifications in the lab.
  • To improve and revise existing product formulations and process, if necessary, to optimize productivity and cost.
  • Selection and quality control of raw materials used in products.
  • To provide relevant technical support and expertise regarding product, process, ingredients or food regulations as appropriate.
  • To review packaging requirement and specifications.
  • To maintain and compute costing for projects
  • Any ad-hoc duties as assigned such as QA projects

Requirements:

  • Degree in Food Technologies/Nutrition or its equivalent.
  • Fresh graduate welcome to apply
  • Familiar with general food processes, food safety requirements, local Food Act & Regulations, GMP, FSSC and HACCP.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Bilingual in English, Malay and Mandarin due to job function required.
  • Willing to learn other skillset and contribute effectively
