FINANCE EXECUTIVE – ACCOUNTS PAYABLE – SELANGOR
Overview:
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced finance executive specializing in accounts payable to join our Malaysia-based F&B company located at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). The Finance Executive, Accounts Payable, will be responsible for managing the accounts payable function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Invoice Processing and Verification:
- Receive and review incoming invoices for accuracy, completeness, and authorization.
- Verify invoices against purchase orders and contracts to ensure alignment.
- Process invoices in a timely manner, accurately recording transactions in the accounting system.
Vendor Management:
- Maintain vendor records and ensure the accuracy of vendor information in the system.
- Communicate with vendors regarding invoice discrepancies, payment inquiries, and account reconciliations.
- Negotiate payment terms and discounts with vendors to optimize cash flow management.
Payment Processing:
- Prepare and process payment batches, including checks, electronic transfers, and wire payments.
- Reconcile payments with invoices and vendor statements to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to obtain the necessary approvals for payment processing.
Expense Reporting and Analysis:
- Assist in the preparation of expense reports and analysis as required.
- Monitor expense trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Provide support during internal and external audits related to accounts payable.
Compliance and Controls:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain strong internal controls over the accounts payable process to mitigate risk.
- Participate in the development and implementation of process improvements and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in accounts payable or related finance roles.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software and the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
