Job Description
- Assist the Golf manager in the day to day running of the golf operations of the Club including:
- Supervises and administers the overall functions of the golf office operations; administers personnel and budget actions; assigns staff and caddies as required daily; prepares preliminary budgets and staff requirements.
- Administers the rules and regulations established for the operation of the golf course.
- Requisitions supplies and equipment; coordinates tournaments, promotes interest in the use of the golf course facilities to members and guests.
- Coordinate schedules of tournaments, lessons, golf teams and regular tee-off times
- Set up online registration for all events.
- Organises golf competitions, inter club matches, external golf events and ensures the smooth running of events including registration, score cards, F&B requirements, arrangement of prizes and the computation of scores.
- To attend meetings of all related Sub-Committees and to take minutes in the absence of the secretary.
- Able to liaise with various other departments specifically F&B to ensure that Golf events are organised in an efficient and effective manner.
- To ensure handicap tests or familiarization for new members are coordinated and arranged well and that all members’ handicap data are updated monthly.
- Administer, interpret and enforce all club rules and policies that govern the use of the course, buggies, and other golf-related facilities.
- Be open and interested in members’ suggestions, resolving issues as they arise, including presentation of more difficult issues and possible solutions to the Golf Manager.
- Supervise the rental and use of golf carts and maintenance of such equipment.
- Supervise the One Stop centre staff to ensure proper charging to member’s accounts, the collection of fees from guests, green fees, buggy fees, merchandise and services.
- Cooperate with the Course Superintendent on maintenance issues that affect the playability of the golf course.
- Requisitions supplies and equipment upon requests.
- Outline golf operations personnel duties and assignments and monthly duty roster.
- Coordinate golf operations with golf maintenance activities and to ensure the golf courses are properly marked to competition standards at all times and to work with the Course & Ground Dept. in doing so.
- Able to interpret the Rules of Golf and the Club’s Bye-Laws when required.
- Assist the Golf Manager with the preparation of the Golf Department budget; assist in the promotion and conduct of all organized competitive golf play in the Club and Golf Fixtures.
- To assist Golf Manager with regular training of subordinate staff and caddies and undertake to ensure their effectiveness and that they carry out their duties as required by the Club.
- To perform any other duties as directed by the Golf Manager or General Manager.
Job Requirements
- Candidate must possess a minimum qualification of Diploma or Degree in Sports Management or equivalent
- Female candidates are also encouraged to apply
- At least 5 years experience in supervisory or similar role in the sport and recreation industry
- Any related working experience will be an advantage
- Good communication skills both in Bahasa Malaysia and English language
- Willing to work on weekends and Public Holidays
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with golfers and members
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to handle day-to-day operations and challenges
- Passion for the game of golf and a deep understanding of the sport, its rules, and the golfing community
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Proficient in using golf management software and technology
