Quantity Surveyors
Pre-Contracts Responsibilities:
1. Sources and compiles information for tender participation, including measurement, quotation invitation, costing reports, and tender submissions.
2. Prepares bill of quantities (BoQ) involving quantity take-off, material sourcing, and estimating material and labour costs for tendering.
3. Prepares tender responses in consultation with Commercial HOD and attends tender interviews.
Post-Contracts Responsibilities:
1. Reviews tender pricing with the Commercial HOD or Contract Manager
2. Examines letter of appointments, contract drawings, and documents to identify deviations from the tender.
3. Attends project meetings
4. Negotiates with suppliers and appoints specialist subcontractors i.e. carpenters, fabricators, or installers as per trade requirements.
5. Ensures timely submission of variation order (VO) costs and communicates progress to the project manager, along with submitting monthly progress claims and closing final accounts.
6. Follows up on payment certificates and client payments efficiently.
7. Certifies subcontractors’ claims based on site progress and quantity.
Qualifications & Education Requirements:
Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying or a related field
