Job Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the daily scheduling of company lorries.
- Assign drivers and vehicles according to delivery requirements.
- Monitor lorry movements and ensure deliveries are completed on time.
- Plan efficient delivery routes to optimize time and fuel consumption.
- Coordinate with the warehouse, sales, and site teams on delivery schedules.
- Ensure all lorries have valid road tax, insurance, permits, and inspection certificates.
- Arrange preventive maintenance, servicing, and repairs for company lorries.
- Monitor vehicle condition and maintain maintenance records.
- Track fuel usage, toll expenses, and vehicle operating costs.
- Ensure drivers comply with company policies and road safety regulations.
- Investigate delivery delays, accidents, or vehicle breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of delivery documents, vehicle inspections, and driver reports.
- Liaise with external workshops, transport authorities, and service providers when necessary.
- Prepare monthly reports on fleet utilization, maintenance costs, and delivery performance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance transportation efficiency and reduce operating costs.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, fleet management, or a related role.
- Knowledge of fleet operations, vehicle maintenance, and transportation planning.
- Familiar with Malaysian road transport regulations, including road tax, insurance, vehicle inspections, and transport compliance.
- Experience in coordinating lorry schedules and managing delivery operations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills, especially in handling delivery delays, vehicle breakdowns, and operational issues.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to work effectively with drivers, warehouse, sales, and site teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP or fleet management systems is an advantage.
- Ability to analyze transport costs, fuel consumption, and fleet utilization to improve operational efficiency.
- Able to work independently, under pressure, and meet tight delivery schedules.
- Possess a valid Class D driving licence; familiarity with commercial vehicle operations is an added advantage.
