About the role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Purchaser to join ITECH System Engineering Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position based in Puchong, Selangor. As a Purchaser, you will play a vital role in our supply chain operations, ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, components, and services required for our manufacturing and engineering operations. This role is essential to maintaining our competitive advantage and supporting the smooth operation of our business.
Key responsibilities
- Source, identify, and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors to ensure quality, reliability, and competitive pricing
- Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in specifications, quantities, delivery schedules, and pricing terms
- Negotiate with suppliers to achieve favourable pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules whilst maintaining quality standards
- Monitor and track orders from placement through delivery, maintaining communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Maintain accurate records of purchasing transactions, supplier information, and procurement documentation
- Conduct cost analysis and comparative studies to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements
- Liaise with production, engineering, and finance teams to understand material requirements and ensure timely supply
- Manage inventory levels through effective planning and coordination with relevant departments
- Resolve procurement issues, discrepancies, and disputes with suppliers in a professional manner
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical procurement standards
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience of at least 3-5 years in a purchasing or procurement role, ideally within manufacturing, engineering, or logistics sectors
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management, and inventory control
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers
- Proficiency in procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant office applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of quality standards and certifications relevant to manufacturing and engineering
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
- Familiarity with local and international suppliers would be advantageous
