About the Role

We are looking for a Business Development Manager who is professional in presence and conduct, confident in client-facing communication, and able to represent the company positively in meetings with prospects, partners, and senior stakeholders.

The Business Development Manager will play a key role in expanding the Malaysian business by identifying new business opportunities, building strategic relationships, and driving client acquisition for our new system solution and related technology / AI solutions.

You will be responsible for developing new accounts, generating qualified business opportunities, supporting solution presentations, and contributing to the growth of the sales pipeline.

This is a client-facing and high-activity role that requires strong business acumen, resilience, professionalism, and the ability to engage decision-makers across different industries.

Job Description

Business Development & Market Expansion

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across targeted industries and market segments.
  • Develop a clear understanding of the company’s digital solutions, value proposition, and service offerings.
  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and account mapping to identify high-potential prospects.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of potential clients, partners, and business opportunities.
  • Support the development of go-to-market strategies for the Malaysian market.

Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

  • Conduct outbound outreach, corporate visits, networking, and business meetings to generate new opportunities.
  • Engage prospects to understand their business needs, pain points, and decision-making process.
  • Build trust and maintain long-term relationships with prospects, clients, and business partners.
  • Qualify business opportunities using structured criteria such as BANT: Budget, Authority, Need, and Timeline.
  • Work closely with internal teams to convert qualified opportunities into active sales discussions.

Solution Selling & Sales Support

  • Present the company’s digital and AI-enabled solutions to potential clients and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver business presentations, product introductions, proposals, and solution overviews.
  • Collaborate with IT, Operations, and Marketing teams to understand client requirements and support tailored solution discussions.
  • Provide market feedback and customer insights to support product positioning, messaging, and campaign planning.
  • Support negotiations, proposal follow-ups, and client onboarding where required.

Event, Campaign & Partnership Support

  • Support business development activities through networking events, product briefings, corporate visits, webinars, and marketing campaigns.
  • Conduct pre-event outreach, reminder calls, and post-event follow-ups to convert attendees into business opportunities.
  • Identify potential partners, resellers, vendors, or ecosystem players who may support business growth.
  • Assist with database cleansing, lead tracking, and client list management.

Reporting & Pipeline Management

  • Maintain accurate records of prospects, client interactions, pipeline status, and follow-up actions.
  • Track business development activities, qualified leads, conversion status, and potential revenue opportunities.
  • Provide regular updates on market feedback, client interest, pipeline progress, and business development outcomes.
  • Ensure all client information and sales activities are properly updated.

Qualification

  • Previous experience in business development, sales, account management, or client acquisition, preferably in a B2B IT, SaaS, software, cloud, AI, digital solutions, or technology environment.
  • Interest in the technology sector and knowledge of the Malaysian and global IT landscape
  • Strong ability to identify business opportunities, engage prospects, and build client relationships.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills, with confidence in presenting to senior stakeholders and C-suite executives
  • Fluent English is mandatory. Basic comprehension of Chinese is highly preferred.
  • Self-driven and able to work independently, especially in corporate visits and cold outreach environments

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Strong existing connections within the partner ecosystem.
  • Experience using AI Agents or AI tools for lead generation and drafting.
  • Basic understanding of AI applications in marketing, including video generation, chatbots, and automated advertising
