About the role
Infinite QL Group of Companies is seeking a Field Service Tech (IT & ELV) to join our dynamic technical support team. This is a contract position based in Kuala Lumpur, offering the opportunity to deliver hands-on technical support across both IT infrastructure and Electronic Low Voltage (ELV) systems. As a Field Service Technician, you will be at the forefront of our service delivery, providing onsite technical assistance to our valued clients. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence and ensuring our customers receive prompt, professional technical support.
Key responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment and systems at client locations, including computers, networks, servers, and peripherals
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for both hardware and software-related issues in the field
- Install, test, and maintain Electronic Low Voltage (ELV) systems, including CCTV, access control, and barrier gates.
- Perform preventative maintenance on IT and ELV systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability
- Diagnose and resolve technical faults promptly, documenting all work performed in service reports
- Respond to service calls and emergency requests in a professional and timely manner
- Liaise with clients to understand their technical requirements and provide solutions that meet their needs
- Maintain accurate records of all fieldwork, including spare parts used and time spent on each job
- Collaborate with the support team to escalate complex issues and share knowledge with colleagues
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies whilst working at client sites
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience working as a field service technician or in a similar IT support role
- Strong knowledge of IT hardware, software, networking, and troubleshooting methodologies
- Experience with Electronic Low Voltage (ELV) systems, including security systems, access control, and CCTV installation
- Certification in relevant IT fields (such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent) is highly desirable
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in the field
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- Valid driving licence and access to reliable transportation for travelling to client sites
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional after-hours support if required
- Professional attitude with a commitment to customer service excellence
- Physical ability to lift and carry equipment and work in various environments
