Primary responsibilities:
- The overall purpose with the position is to lead, maintain and develop the group of Project Engineers in Malaysia. The position is responsible for the daily management of the project engineers. The job requires close contact with the group of the Project Engineers, Project Managers and the Project Director to align available resources with the projects being executed.
Primary areas of focus:
Key tasks
- Assign and plan project engineers and designers resources to project execution and subsequently follow up.
- Develop the level of qualifications in the project engineers group to suit the requirements set forth by the complexity in the projects
- Implement, maintain and further develop adequate tools and software programs in the project engineers group. Currently Inventor, AutoCAD, XAL, PI&D and 3D-scanning tools. Combined with near future AX & Vault programs.
- Increasing the process knowledge within the project engineers group by internal & external training as well as plant visits during project start, installation or commissioning
- Plan and execute the project engineers work in the best and most flexible way in order to optimize the use of resources and increase the efficiency in solving the tasks.
- Keeping the project engineers group motivated by active leadership activities and setting a good example.
- Assist in defining and implementing standardized HI solutions to highest possible level.
KPI & Targets:
- Day to day management of the employees in the department
- Secure that the group of project engineers and designers has adequate and updated tools and qualifications
- Secure implementation and optimal utilization of current and future software programs and tools
Key Success Factors:
Ensure continuous focus on project engineers and designers competence development.
- Document qualifications necessary for project engineers to meet project complexity, as well as plan for meeting level of qualifications.
- Develop and maintain overview of tools and SW programs, critical for project engineers daily work.
Ensure KPIs
- Implementation KPIs for respective project engineers
- Increase in KPI success rate over time
High performing project engineers and designers, through Performance Management
- Define clear goals for project engineers and on individual level.
Profile & Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree / Master holder in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering
· Minimum 8 years experience in relevant industry
· Proven technical competence
· Team leadership experience
- Strong problem solving and communication skills
