Product Compliance & Certification Manager

About the role
We’re looking for a Product Compliance & Certification Manager to own all product standards, safety and certification work for Vuly. You’ll make sure our products meet the right standards in every country we sell in – and that our engineering, product and operations teams have clear, practical guidance on what that means in real life.
This role sits in our KL hub and works closely with Engineering, Product Development, Quality and Supply Chain.
What you’ll be doing
- Own certifications end-to-end
- Map the standards and certification requirements for our key markets (AU, EU, US and others).
- Manage certification processes with external labs, test houses and regulators.
- Maintain a live register of product certifications, expiry dates and conditions.
- Translate standards into clear requirements
- Break down relevant standards into simple, usable design and testing requirements.
- Work with engineers and product designers so new products are “right first time” from a compliance point of view.
- Provide clear go/no-go advice on product changes and new features.
- Testing, documentation and evidence
- Coordinate internal and external testing programmes.
- Ensure all technical files, test reports and declarations are complete, current and well organised.
- Prepare and maintain product compliance documentation for internal use and for regulators.
- Risk and issue management
- Monitor changes to relevant standards and regulations and flag impacts early.
- Support incident / complaint investigations where standards or safety are in question.
- Recommend practical actions to reduce compliance and safety risk.
- Ways of working and improvement
- Build simple processes and templates so teams follow the right steps every time.
- Train and coach internal teams on standards and compliance basics.
- Look for ways to streamline certification timelines and costs.
About you
You’re practical, organised and comfortable in the detail of standards and regulations – but you can also explain them simply to non-experts.
Must haves:
- Experience in product compliance / certification / regulatory affairs / quality for physical products (e.g. consumer goods, toys, sports/outdoor, electronics or similar).
- Strong understanding of how standards, testing and certification work in practice.
- Proven track record managing external labs, test houses or notified bodies.
- Ability to read and interpret technical standards, then turn them into clear requirements.
- Solid documentation and organisation skills – you keep records tight and current.
- Comfortable working with engineers, product managers and operations teams.
- Good written and spoken English.
Nice to have:
- Experience with multi-country compliance (e.g. AU/NZ, EU, US).
- Background in engineering, science or a related technical field.
- Experience in an international or fast-growing company.
