Our client Ametek Engineered Materials Sdn Bhd is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join their team!

What you’ll be doing?
- Department Leadership: Guide the Manufacturing Engineering Department, overseeing New Product Introduction, new line setup, product transfer, process development and optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Process Development: Collaborate closely with product engineers and tooling teams to define and optimize manufacturing processes, ensuring manufacturing line readiness across all relevant functions.
- Operational Excellence: Provide vital manufacturing engineering support to operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day manufacturing and driving OEE improvements including uptime, throughput, and scrap rate optimization.
- Cost Optimization: Identify and lead OPEX labor savings projects to support annual cost savings budgets, while facilitating Kaizen events and Lean manufacturing activities.
- Innovation & Automation: Spearhead automation initiatives for new and existing programs, actively supporting new business pursuits through design phase participation and manufacturing leadership.
- Team Development: Conduct training and coaching of manufacturing engineers, manage team capability growth, and define manufacturing process technology roadmaps for future success.
- Strategic Planning: Define and regularly review manufacturing engineering KPIs, while managing the balance between customer program execution and standard product capability development.
Who are they looking for?
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or automation, providing a strong technical foundation for manufacturing excellence. We welcome candidates from diverse educational backgrounds who can demonstrate relevant skills and knowledge.
- Industry Experience: Around 10 years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in CNC precision part machining and electro-mechanical part assembly environments. We value diverse experiences that can contribute to our manufacturing processes.
- Leadership Experience: About 5 years of New Product Introduction and engineering management experience, with a proven ability to lead and develop people effectively. We appreciate candidates who can demonstrate leadership skills in various contexts.
- Technical Expertise: Strong expertise with Lean/Six Sigma Manufacturing, 5S methodologies, and Root Cause Analysis techniques for continuous improvement. We encourage candidates with a passion for learning and applying these methodologies.
- Quality Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO9001, QS9000, or IATF16949 to ensure compliance and operational excellence. We welcome candidates who are eager to learn and apply quality management principles.
- Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written English skills along with strong communication abilities to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders. We value clear and inclusive communication.
- Language Proficiency: Proficiency in Bahasa English and Bahasa Melayu is required to communicate effectively with local teams and stakeholders. This language requirement ensures smooth collaboration and understanding within our diverse work environment.
