The role
We are seeking a highly organised and analytical Production Planner to join our team at Suruga Techno (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd in Tampoi, Johor. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for creating and optimising production schedules to ensure efficient and timely manufacturing operations.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demand and operational targets
- Analyse production data, identify bottlenecks and implement strategies to improve efficiency
- Request production resources (manpower, machine, raw material) according to customer forecast
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to respond to changes in demand or supply
- Provide regular reporting on production KPIs and make recommendations for process improvements
- Support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with the production team to optimise the use of resources, including labour, equipment and materials
- Communicate with sales and customer service teams to provide updates on production status and delivery schedules
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience as a Production Planner or a similar role in a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in using production planning and scheduling software, such as ERP systems
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and experience in implementing continuous improvement projects
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as industrial engineering, operations management or supply chain management
- High sense of urgency. Good communication, planning, coordination and monitoring skills
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 14000 standards
