Business Analyst (IT) – KUALA LUMPUR

Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Junior Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. Please Note:

This role is distinctly different from a Data Analyst or Financial Analyst position. While all three roles demand strong analytical skills, the Business Analyst position is uniquely focused on understanding and enhancing business processes, managing stakeholder relationships, and implementing technology solutions that directly benefit our clients. This role requires close coordination with our software engineers to ensure that the technology solutions we deploy not only align with our strategic goals but also deliver tangible benefits to our clients.

Location: Work From Home (must reside in Kuala Lumpur or Selangor)

Employment Type:

  • This is a full-time position under direct company payroll.
  • We are not considering part-time, contract, freelance candidates, or recruitment agency submissions for this role.

Key Qualifications:

  • A degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. A preference will be given to candidates holding a first-class degree and a higher CGPA.
  • Malaysian nationality is essential.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in Business Analyst / System Analyst, or a related internship, is preferred.
  • Strong business acumen, with a clear understanding of how IT functions as an enabler for business success.
  • Possess strong skills in technical documentation e.g. URS/URD documentation. This includes proficiency in utilizing various diagramming tools to illustrate complex processes in a comprehensible manner e.g. swim lane diagram, flow charts, BPM diagram.
  • Adept in creating detailed documentation, slides and engaging presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically about business processes and improvements.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills..
  • Demonstrated involvement in interesting final year projects, preferably with a significant personal contribution, which can be showcased during the interview.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a friendly and positive attitude towards peers and team collaboration.
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to handle complex challenges.
  • Be willing to travel and meet clients in person, as required, to facilitate discussions and gather insights for project success.

Work From Home Requirements:

  • Candidates must have a stable internet connection at home.
  • The company will provide a laptop for work purposes.

Attendance Obligations:

  • Candidates must be willing to actively participate in company activities on a quarterly basis.
  • Attendance at important physical meetings is mandatory, and candidates are expected to attend without exception, regardless of whether they work from home or their location within Malaysia.

Probation and Training Period:

  • The probation period will last for 2 months.
  • New hires will immediately engage in hands-on training, working closely with experienced team members and accessing mentorship support to quickly acclimate to their roles.
  • They will be involved in practical activities like analyzing business processes, documenting requirements, and collaborating with various departments from the outset.
  • Performance and adaptability during this period will be evaluated for continuation of employment, with an emphasis on providing support and guidance to meet team and individual goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze business processes to identify opportunities for improvement in our projects.
  • Gather detailed requirements from customers and stakeholders, ensuring a thorough understanding of their needs and expectations.
  • Prepare comprehensive user requirements documents that serve as a blueprint for the software delivery team.
  • Work closely with the software delivery team to ensure a clear understanding of the requirements, facilitating the successful delivery of IT systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven strategies, ensuring project goals are met.
  • Develop and present insightful reports to management, highlighting key findings, progress, and recommendations.
  • Play an active role in project management, contributing to planning, execution, and monitoring phases.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring consistent understanding and expectations.
  • Ensure that business goals are aligned with market trends and customer expectations, adapting strategies as necessary.
  • Engage in problem-solving to overcome projects execution obstacles.

Our Interview Process:

Our hiring process is designed to be thorough and efficient, ensuring we find the best fit for our team. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Application Submission – Submit your application through our specified channel.
  • First Round – Job Fit (1.5 hours): After reviewing applications, we will schedule an online call (via Zoom) and send you an invitation via email. Please ensure you have a stable internet connection and your webcam enabled, as these are mandatory requirements. It is important that your portfolio or project is fully prepared in advance, rather than starting or organizing them during the interview. Failure to meet these requirements, including the presentation of your portfolio or final year project, will result in disqualification from the selection process. We appreciate your participation and look forward to an engaging session.
  • Second Round – Technical Interview (2.5 hours): If you pass the first round, you’ll be invited for another online call (via Google Meet) and invite you via email. This session will cover a comprehensive technical interview to assess your skills in depth.
  • Potential Third Round – A third round of interviews may be conducted if necessary.
  • Job Offer – Successful candidates will receive a job offer. Please note that our salaries are fixed as stated in our job advertisements and non-negotiable.
  • Offer Acceptance – You will have 5 days to review and e-sign the offer. Please note that if we do not receive your response within this 5-day period, the offer will be considered void.

With the exception of our usual communication protocols, once your offer has been signed by you and before your employment begins, we may contact you via WhatsApp for specific pre-start arrangements, such as laptop collection.
