Job Description
We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to serve as the technical focal point for supplier quality issues and work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main contact for supplier quality and functional issues related to purchased components.
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely resolution of quality issues and implementation of corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain Inspection Plans and Inspection Methods, and provide guidance to Receiving Inspection teams.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance using quality data such as Receiving Inspection results, MRB, Customer Returns, SCAR, and supplier performance records.
- Support and participate in supplier audits in collaboration with Corporate Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE).
- Perform and maintain component inspection documentation and inspection requirements in SAP.
- Monitor and drive supplier PPM performance and support suppliers in achieving quality targets.
- Drive supplier selection and development strategies to establish a reliable and cost-effective supplier base.
- Proactively communicate supplier quality issues that may impact product cost, quality, or manufacturability to relevant departments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and applicable procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in supplier quality, receiving inspection, supplier audits, SCAR, PPM, or corrective action will be an advantage.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data and identify root causes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant quality/ERP systems; SAP experience is an advantage.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
- Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate in both office and manufacturing-floor environments.
