Job Summary
The R&D Executive responsible in handling new product development and manufacturing improvement projects, required to collaborate with cross functional team in development of new product, conduct market research and evaluate competitor products, maintain and improve Product Development operation in laboratory.
Key Accountabilities
1. Develop New Product and Innovative Technology
• To understand, give full support and commitment on new product roadmap, strategy, and a long-term vision on new product set by top management.
• Apply creative thinking, analysis, and good judgement to propose innovative solution to technical problems.
• To ensure project input is clearly stated in project proposal form in the initial stage of project initiation. Project output shall be reviewed from time to time and shall meet the project input stated in project proposal form.
• Responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle from planning stage to commercialization stage.
• Source suitable material required in project to resolve issue arises.
• To perform feasibility and stability study on new proposed technology, materials, formulations and process parameters in laboratory before scaling up to production line.
• To discuss and plan with superior on DOE design in laboratory scale to resolve issue arise or simulate worst-case scenario that may arise in production scale using Failure Mode and Effect Analysis.
• To prepare new prototype samples for sales and marketing for discussion. Prototype samples may distribute to customer once consensus on product features is finalized and ready for commercial run.
• To discuss with superior and liaise with external testing laboratory for product proposition justification whenever required.
• To propose process improvement and initiatives for machine efficiency improvement or cost down improvement.
• To work closely with production personnel to monitor new process introduced.
• Resolve issue arises in the implementation of new process or new improvement method.
• To explore latest technology that could be beneficial to Nastah.
2. Manage R&D lab and project documentation
• To ensure all MSDS and TDS of chemicals in laboratory is properly filed.
• To ensure all chemicals in laboratory is labelled and easily retrievable.
• To ensure Product Development laboratory facilities is ready at all time.
• To ensure lab cleanliness is properly maintained.
• To maintain and upgrade the safety level of PD laboratory and operations.
• To maintain and improve the laboratory dipping facilities and testing capability.
3 Carry out R&D Operation
• To supervise and monitor PD assistant on daily workload.
• To ensure all test results performed in laboratory is reported and updated clearly.
• To ensure good work arrangement between production team and PD team in usage of compounding and dipping equipment during peak session.
• To ensure programming of KUKA is backed up from time to time.
• To ensure all KUKA arm is calibrated and ready to use at all time.
• Responsible to set up new programming for new dipping parameter.
• To ensure KUKA operation is within specification and maintained in regular basis.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree (Chemistry/Polymer)
• At least 3 years’ experience in R&D or project management field
• Possess analytical skills, Project Planning & Management skill, problem solving skill, communication & leadership skill
