Lead Pastry Chef

Role Overview:
As the Lead Pastry Chef at Momoyo, you will be responsible for managing the entire pastry production process, from creating and baking to inventory management and quality control. You will ensure that all pastries, desserts, and baked goods meet the company’s high standards while controlling costs and complying with health and safety regulations. This position requires hands-on expertise, creativity, and the ability to manage all tasks independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Pastry Production:
    – Independently manage the preparation and production of all pastries, desserts, and baked goods for Momoyo outlets.
    – Ensure the quality, consistency, and presentation of all products align with the brand’s standards. 
  2. Quality Control:
    – Implement rigorous quality control processes to maintain high standards in taste, texture, and presentation.
    – Monitor customer feedback and adjust recipes or production methods as needed to improve products. 
  3. Budgeting & Cost Control:
    – Manage the budget for pastry production, keeping ingredient costs within targets while maintaining quality.
    – Monitor usage of supplies and implement cost-effective practices to minimize waste. 
  4.  Inventory & Supplies Management:
    – Handle the ordering and management of all pastry ingredients and supplies.
    – Ensure that stock levels are maintained without excess, and all ingredients are stored properly to ensure freshness. 
  5. Menu Development:
    – Collaborate with the team to develop seasonal and innovative pastry items that reflect the brand’s vision.
    – Ensure that new menu items are cost-effective, meet customer expectations, and are aligned with Momoyo’s overall concept. 
  6. Health & Safety Compliance:
    – Ensure all operations adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food handling.Regularly inspect kitchen conditions to ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines. 
  7. Operations Management:
    – Set production schedules and organize workflow to ensure all pastries and desserts are prepared on time.
    – Manage all day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency and smooth functioning in the pastry department.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Diploma in Culinary Arts, Pastry Arts, or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years in the pastry or bakery industry, with a strong track record of managing pastry production independently.
  • Strong experience in cost control, inventory management, and budgeting. 
  • Creative and skilled in developing new pastry items and enhancing existing offerings. 
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
