Key Duties & Responsibilities
– Assists with basic fabrication and instrumentation of models to be tested in the wind tunnel.
– Works closely with experienced Lab members to assemble test apparatus, including routine inspections of equipment.
– Adheres to approved Lab procedures, quality assurance processes and accurately fills out project related documentation.
– Follows all model specifications, drawings, and blueprints to ensure completeness and accuracy of work.
– Assists with routine equipment maintenance.
– Assists Lab staff with implementing general laboratory improvements.
– Provides limited support to Design and Engineering staff as needed to help meet project schedules.
– Attends relevant internal meetings.
– Complies with all CPP policies and WHS guidelines.
– Comfortable standing, sitting or crouching for periods of time, occasionally lifting up to 25kg.
– Ad hoc duties as required.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
– Some experience in woodwork, metalwork, model making, 3D printing or other manufacturing techniques.
– Comfortable with basic hand tools and workshop machinery.
– Ability to interpret project drawings with guidance, identifying key elements such as components, dimensions and materials.
– Ability to understand and execute directions accurately.
– High attention to detail to ensure completeness in work.
– Interest in practical areas such as instrumentation and electronics, fabrication techniques, sensors, robotics or computer programming.
– Curiosity with data acquisition & recording techniques.
– Basic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
– Basic interpersonal and communication skills.
– Good team work ethic with the ability to work independently.
– Ability to adhere to work health and safety requirements as identified in the WHS Policy and Inductions.
– Computer skills – Microsoft Outlook, Excel.
– Contributes to a positive Lab culture.
