Job Summary:

The General Manager is responsible for the overall management and success of the food and beverage establishment. This role involves overseeing all aspects of operations, including strategic planning, staff management, financial performance, customer service, and compliance with company standards and regulations. The General Manager ensures that the establishment delivers high-quality service, maximizes profitability, and maintains a positive reputation. 
                                                                                                                                                                                               

Key Responsibilities:       

1.Strategic Planning and Management:                                                                   

  • Develop and implement business strategies to achieve the establishment’s goals and objectives.
  • Create and execute short-term and long-term plans for growth and profitability.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.

2.Operational Oversight:                                                                   

  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient and effective management of all departments, including front-of-house, back-of-house, and administrative functions.
  • Ensure that all operations comply with company policies, industry regulations, and health and safety standards.
  • Implement and maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, and organization.

3.Financial Management:                                                                   

  • Develop and manage the budget, including forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and take corrective actions to achieve financial targets.
  • Optimize revenue streams and manage expenses to enhance profitability.

4.Operational Oversight:    

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of managers and staff, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, development, and performance evaluation of employees.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for effective staff management.

5.Customer Service Excellence:

  • Ensure exceptional customer service and satisfaction by setting high service standards and addressing customer feedback and complaints effectively. 
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the overall guest experience and build customer loyalty.

6.Marketing and Promotion:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to design and execute promotional activities, events, and advertising campaigns.
  • Analyze market trends and customer preferences to tailor marketing strategies and drive business growth.
  • Oversee social media and online presence to attract and retain customers.

7.Compliance and Quality Control:  

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, including food safety, health, and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain high standards of quality and hygiene.
  • Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on operational performance, financial status, and strategic initiatives to senior management.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with upper management, staff, and external stakeholders.

Qualifications / Requirements: 

  • Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Food Technology/Nutrition/ Business Studies/Administration/Management, Food & Beverage Services Management, Hospitality/Tourism/Hotel Management or equivalent.
  • Strong command of spoken and written MANDARIN, ENGLISH and BAHASA MALAYSIA (or other local languages) beneficial for regional stakeholder communication.
  • At least 7-8 Year(s) of hands-on experience in sales and retail operation management in Food/Beverage/Restaurant Service or equivalent.
  • The candidate should possess excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in strategic planning, forecasting, and budgeting is necessary.
  • The candidate should be flexible to work on weekends and holidays as needed.
  • The candidate must be willing to travel as part of the role.
