IT OFFICER

About the role

As an IT Officer at YKK (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, you will play a crucial role in supporting the company’s technology infrastructure and ensuring the smooth operation of its IT systems. This full-time position is based in Senai, Johor, and will involve providing technical assistance and troubleshooting to employees across the organisation.

What you’ll be doing

  • Providing first-line IT support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network-related issues
  • Assisting with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems, software, and peripherals
  • Responding to user requests and inquiries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Documenting IT-related processes and procedures to maintain accurate records
  • Collaborating with the IT team to implement and maintain security protocols and ensure data integrity
  • Providing training and guidance to users on the proper use of IT systems and software
  • Participating in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies to enhance the company’s IT infrastructure

What we’re looking for

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar IT support or helpdesk role
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues
  • Familiarity with common software applications, operating systems, and hardware components
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with users of varying technical expertise
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure efficient IT service delivery
  • Willingness to learn and stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends
    Provide client computer support, including setup, relocation, troubleshooting, and software/printer installation.
  • Manage Active Directory, Windows user profiles, and Office 365 email and SharePoint user access.
  • Operate and manage IT helpdesk activities and user support requests.
  • Support printer operations and resolve printing-related issues.
  • Manage backup operations, restoration testing, DNS, DHCP, and File Server user access.
  • Perform virtualization operations (VM creation, startup, shutdown, migration, and cloning).
  • Administer AS400 basic system operations and user management.
  • Manage laptop bring-out applications and portable device registration.
  • Support UPS, EMS, CCTV, Door Access Control, and RPA troubleshooting.
    Perform monthly and quarterly patch management for servers and client systems
  • Support ISMS operations, documentation updates, and audit activities.
  • Manage and review IT contracts as assigned.
  • Support network, firewall, switch, and SD-WAN operations.
  • Participate in system upgrades, infrastructure projects, and other IT-related assignments as directed by management.
