JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to manage the procurement and administration of materials, equipment, and services essential for our company’s operations and projects. This role involves selecting, evaluating, and maintaining supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and managing the Approved Supplier List (ASL). Responsibilities include sourcing and monitoring stocks, plants, machinery, and equipment during various project stages and overseeing repair and maintenance. The ideal candidate will also handle supplier appraisals and internal invoicing and ensure adherence to environmental, legal, and quality system requirements.  JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Coordinate & administer materials and equipment purchases for the company and projects.
  2. To select, evaluate, and register suppliers based on competitiveness, qualifications, and ability to meet company and project requirements. 
  3. To administer company Approved supplier List (ASL). 
  4. Liaise with suppliers regarding requirements, cost, delivery, and after-sale services for purchased materials or equipment. 
  5. To participate in monitoring, appraising and auditing suppliers. 
  6. To source materials/plants, Machinery & Equipment during tendering and project execution stages. 
  7. To control and monitor the condition of stocks in store regularly. 
  8. To control and monitor plants, machinery and equipment, including repair and maintenance. 
  9. To prepare internal invoices. 
  10. To implement all policies, activities, procedures, and instructions as relevant and required by the quality system. 
  11. To undertake any and all other duties and responsibilities as so set by the superior. 
  12. To comply with applicable legal and other requirements. 
  13. To take responsibility for protecting the environment and preventing pollution.

Authority:

  • To issue a Purchase Order (PO).
  • Verify and recommend approval on supplier registration forms.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Requirements:

  • SPM/Certificate/Diploma in a related discipline. 
  • Minimum 2 years experience in the Civil/Building Engineering industry, preferably in a similar position. 
  • Knowledge of inventory control and storekeeping would be an added advantage. 
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with various project stakeholders. 
  • Good planning and organizational skills, strong attention to detail, quality control, and adherence to project timelines.
  • Good discipline, a positive attitude, and a strong sense of responsibility and professionalism
  • Ability to write and converse well in Bahasa Malaysia, English and any Chinese dialects would be an advantage. 
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • Computer literate, knowledge of MS Office application software. 
  • Knowledge of legal and other requirements and good environmental, safety and health practices. 
  • Priority will be given to applicants who are available to start IMMEDIATELY.
